This Safer Intersection Report was given to me as an assignment for a Professional Copyediting and Proofreading course as part of my Technical Communication and Rhetoric degree from Utah State University. I utilized Microsoft Word’s track changes and comments features to provide a variety of feedback including grammatical and content improvements. I have included the original, in-progress, and complete versions of the report. I carefully edited each section of the report at a sentence, paragraph, and overall document level.

My priority at the sentence level was to begin sentences with familiar, simple information and end with complex, new information because readers are more likely to comprehend and enjoy information when it repeats in a cohesive flow. My priority at the paragraph level was to let readers know what to expect in the section so they can read more knowledgeably and to motivate them to read carefully. At the document level, my priority was to create an attractive document that was informative in an easily comprehensible way.
